Nail biting Reads!!

Image
Protecting Tanner Hollow By Lynette Eason Lynette Eason brings four suspense filled novellas in one book. From a old flame returning home, a witness to a murder, a mother on the run to protect her children and a forensic supervisor with a target on her back. Each of these stories interconnect thru out the book, bringing it to the end with the last story.  You do not feel as if you are left wanting to know where the other couples have went in life, they each have a cameo in the next novella till the end. This is something I loved about this book, Lynette gives you glimpses into the lives of the couples. This book will keep you turning the pages till the end of the book. Healing thru Words!!

Image
Breaking the Power of Negative Words by Mary C. Busha Growing up I have always heard the old adage " Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but words will not ever hurt me". In my experience words have been very harming to me and the ones I love.  Other times words have been used to encourage me or have been brought together to entertain us. This book helps us to turn around the negative words that have been spoken over our lives and find healing in positive words.  Mary C. Busha gives us steps toward finding healing from the barrage of negative words that have built up in our lives. She also gives us accounts of other people who have struggled and overcome the negativity in their own lives. At the end of each chapter, there is questions to answer that help you apply the concepts to your life.  I would recommend this book to anyone dealing with the negative words that have harmed us from childhood to present. Every Bride has Her Day

Image
Every Bride has Her Day Today is a special day for me, it is my wedding anniversary. On this day a very rainy afternoon my hubby and I stood in front of our beloved family and friends to say I do. The months that led up to that day, was a struggle for both of us. We had so many telling us how we should plan our special day, where we should have it at and what to wear for the day. When it came down to it, we planned a wedding that was us; as a couple. A Old Fashioned Campmeeting Wedding theme, that took place at a special place for my family.  Here is a few pics from my very special day!! Calming the brides nerves!! We chose a location that we both loved, a campmeeting grounds near where my parents grew up at and my grandmother took all of the grandkids too. It made it even more special that my dad was able to be there and walk me down the aisle. We chose a simple setting with not much decorations, but a look that played up our love of Count...

Letting Go of Control!!

One of my struggles in my marriage is not having control over things, I let myself get angry over things that I should let go of. It has taken me a long time to get to a place where I know take a deep breath and think before I speak. I did not realize I had done this till the other day my dear hubby told me he had taken money out of the account without telling me. This has been a issue that would usually have gotten me very upset and very angry. This time I had taken a moment to breathe and we was able to talk about the issue without a huge fight. The reward out of this was my dear hubby more willing to listen to how I was feeling about the issue.  I have learned in this past year I can not control everything in my life. Things are going to happen in our lives that we can not control, like a car accident, health problems, infertility, marriage problems. Our marriage has not been like a fairy tale, we have faced  many struggles in the years we have been married. Some of those...

Visual Nature of Men.

Image
Through a Man's Eyes by Shaunti Feldhahn and Craig Gross Shaunti Feldhahn author of "For Women only" teams up with the founder the XXXChurch Craig Ross to bring us women a deeper insight on the men in our lives. This book delves deeper into the way a man's brain works and shows us how much differently they are wired than a woman's brain. Breaking  it down into a language we can understand and be able to see what our men are struggling with every day of their lives. It shows that are men are normal and there is nothing wrong with them being visual, that it actually is part of their makeup to gaze upon their beloved wives. Our culture has made it harder for men to treat a woman like a real person, when they are bombarded with sexual images everywhere they turn. We as wives and mothers need to be the support for our men and open our eyes to the pitfalls they are facing day by day. Taking the time to teach our young sons how to treat a girl like she is somethi...
