We meet Natalie Abbott in 2016 and Mercy Howard 1776, New York. Both women have been faced with a tragedy that has effected their lives in more ways than they could have ever imagined. Upon her arrival at the school she is met with more harsh news it is her beloved son who was the shooter. Stunned all she can do is be by her daughters side at the hospital.
In the days to follow, Natalie is at a lost o how to bring healing back to her family, as she reads Mercy's journal it brings her to see what she is truly looking for in her life "God's grace and love"
