Susan spent some of her time with us telling us about her newest series and giving us some tips on becoming an author. In her newest series called Montana Rescue, Susan introduces us to a new group of unsung heroes. We find the town still trying to rebuild after the disaster that has struck them. At the same time the Stafford brother Nick, has put his whole focus on working his family ranch and is now struggling to raise his daughters on his own. Ruth has done it again and written a story that pulls you in to the book. The little girls struggling with the issue of not having a mother in the picture, then all of sudden she reappears in their life. This story deals with a issue that is not touched very often in fiction. The struggle of a doting father trying to make the right decisions for his daughters without causing them more pain in the long run. Also the pain of having a parent that leaves and then chooses to reinsert themselves in their child lives for alternative reasons. I loved the way she created her characters to each have their own uniqueness a

Really Bad Girls of the Bible!!

Really Bad Girls of the Bible More Lessons from Less-than Perfect Women by Liz Curtis Higgs She did it again, Liz Curtis Higgs has taken the bad girls of the Bible and brought them to life in her latest book. We are introduced to some very overlooked women in the Bible, Jael, Medium of En-dor, Athalia and Herodias. Also some women that touched lives thru the things they did, Bathsheba, Tamar, the Adulteress and the Bleeding Woman. Each of these women did things that were bad or something that was considered bad in that time period in the case of the Bleeding Woman. Each chapter highlights one of these womens stories and at the end it gives us insight that we can learn from each of these women. I loved reading Slightly Bad Girls of the Bible, so when I got the chance to review this book I jumped at it. Liz does an amazing job of taking the stories of the women in the Bible and bringing them to life for us 20th century women. I would recommend this book to anyone as a study

Ben-Hur, A tale of Christ!!

Image
Ben-Hur A Tale of the Christ by Carol Wallace One of the bestselling novels of all time is back, Lew Wallace's great-great granddaughter has breathed new life into it for today's readers. It was really interesting to take a step back into the time period that Jesus lived in. The storyline starts with young Judah Ben-Hur going to meet his best friend after having not seen each other for several years. The years have passed these young men and changed each of them in very vast way that touches their lives. It will be years later before these two former friends turned enemies face off in the big chariot race. But the underlying story that runs thru this story is how Christ touched the lives of a family in several different ways.  This is my first time ever reading this book, it was exciting to be able to review this book. From the moment I picked up the book to read it till the end of it, it held my attention and made me want to see the movie.  This book w

Every Bride has Her Day

Image
Every Bride has Her Day Today is a special day for me, it is my wedding anniversary. On this day a very rainy afternoon my hubby and I stood in front of our beloved family and friends to say I do. The months that led up to that day, was a struggle for both of us. We had so many telling us how we should plan our special day, where we should have it at and what to wear for the day. When it came down to it, we planned a wedding that was us; as a couple. A Old Fashioned Campmeeting Wedding theme, that took place at a special place for my family.  Here is a few pics from my very special day!! Calming the brides nerves!! We chose a location that we both loved, a campmeeting grounds near where my parents grew up at and my grandmother took all of the grandkids too. It made it even more special that my dad was able to be there and walk me down the aisle. We chose a simple setting with not much decorations, but a look that played up our love of Country W
