To Dwell Among Cedars

To Dwell among Cedars (The Covenant House Book #1) by [Connilyn Cossette]

I love reading stories written in the bible times, Connilyn Cossette has became one of my favorite authors to read. She takes stories out the bible and helps us to see it in a very different outlook. Her latest series Israel had any Kings and the Prophet Samuel still leading them. We meet 2 philistine siblings, a young brother and sister; who were directed by their beloved nurse to follow the ark. Their journey takes them far from the homeland to a very strange land with customs that are very foreign to them.

When an Israelite family take Eliora and her brother as their own, she finds hope and safety for the first time in a long while. But she still struggles with feeling like she does not belong. When tensions start rising in the nation of Israel, over the current resting place of the Ark of the Covenant. A group of Hebrews  come to Kiryat-Yearim under the guise of attending the festivals. Levite Musician Ronen has been tasked by his uncle to search out the hiding place of the ark. But what he did not expect was to find the young Philistine girl that he had rescued years ago living as part of the family he has been sent to deceive.

As time grows short for Ronen, his heart grows with love for Eliora. But his deception weighs deeply on his mind, that he starts questioning his loyalty to his uncle. When Elioras sanctuary is burned down by as fire, she is devastated by the loss of it. At the same time her brother has been disappearing for long time periods, which has caused much concern for the family. When she discovers the plot to steal the Ark of Covenant; Eliora  faces down the men that have betrayed her family and her heart. Will Ronen finally see the truth and his eyes be opened to the light? Also will Eliora forgive Ronen for deceiving her and her family? Will Eliora finaly find her place in the family?

After reading this book, I went back and read the passage of scripture and it helped me to see it in a different light. I truly recommend this read to all biblical fiction lovers.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book by the publisher to review, this my honest opinion of this book and I have not received any compensation for it.
