What drew me to reading a series by Connilyn Cossette, was that she was writing biblical fiction. After picking up the 2nd book in her first series, I was hooked to her writing style. So when I received the chance to read this book, i jumped on it. 

We met the heroine Moriyah in the last book in the first series, a young girl that faced a down danger. Now as a young woman, Moriyah lives with the reality that she will not ever be looked at as being beautiful. The brand  on her face is a shameful remainder of her time in captivity in Jericho. Also she believes that no man will ever want to marry her. One night at on of the festivals she finds herself finally feeling like she is beautiful, until one of the local girls recognize her. It is at this festival she meets a young man, who seems very intrigued by her. Her deepest longing may actually come true it this young man is the one that her father has betrothed her too. 

B r life is turned upside down, when an accident happens killing two done of her betrothed. Her only hope is to travel to the safety of the newly established cities of refuge. Her journey takes her thru the wilds of danger and she finds a very unlikely ally in the brother of the her betrothed. Will she be forgiven for her transgression or will she not live to see her father again. 

Conni Lyn Cossette writes a very powerful story that makes you long for more to  the book. I would recommend this book to all my fellow readers.
