Shelter of the Most High

by Connilyn Cossette

In the second installment of the Cities of Refuge series, we find the young Eitan as an adult living in Kedesh. The last eleven years he has been haunted by the tragedy from his childhood, while struggling with the boundaries placed on him by his mother's husband. When his life is suddenly changed when two young women are brought into the city of Refuge.

Sofea has grown up with the freedom of the ocean around her, never realizing it might save her cousin's and her life. One day their village was attacked and they was kidnapped by the marauders that wiped out the village. When Sofea and her cousin escape they find themselves being rescued by a band of warriors from Kedesh.

This city has provided a refuge for so many that have came thru its gates, now it has become a  safe haven for Sofea and her cousin. While Eitan considers the city of refuge his prison, all he has ever wanted is to train and become a warrior to protect his family. While being drawn toward her, Eitan is torn that he will not be able to provide the life of freedom that Sofea longs to have again.

A strange shepherd boy is spotted near the city and inside, putting Eitan more on alert for the danger that looms for his mother. As the threats grow, so does the longing to be able to protect those he loves. Eitan makes a choice that pushes Sofea away from him straight into  the arms of the danger he has feared for so long.

Will Eitan be able to rescue Sofea and her cousin before it is to late? Also will Sofea realize the love that comes from the one who is "I Am".

Connilyn Cossette truly writes a story that will draw you into it and make you want to know what is going to happen next. Also she writes a story that does not leave you lost , even though it skips over a great amount of time. I would truly recommend this series to any reader interested in biblical stories.

I did not receive any compensation for this honest review.
